At Botany we believe in sharing knowledge and continual learning thats why we run creative workshops all year round, every workshop is run by a talented and experienced artist, maker or practitioner. From natural dying to ceramic making, natural skincare to weaving and botanical drawing to working with flowers we want for everyone who attends our workshops to be a part of our community, learn new skills and take away something special. For more information about our workshops please email

Ceramic Planter Workshop with Andrea Roman

Come and join us for a relaxing clay pinching session at the shop. Make your own collection of 2-3 pinched naked clay planters, AR ceramics + Botany style. Learn the basics of clay through the meditative technique of pot pinching, Andrea will carefully prepare and share with us her own favourite texturised stoneware mixes for you to make your own pieces.

Refreshments, tools and all materials will be provided.

Ink & Draw with Laxmi Hussain


Spend an evening drawing at the shop with Laxmi Hussain of THISLAKSHMI.

We will be using inks with a brush and various warm-up techniques in pen and charcoal which Laxmi have adopted over time. The workshop will be focusing on botanical drawing with some inspiration from her own work on the body to allow you to add human gestures if you wish.

You do not need to have any experience to join, all welcome to participate.

In this workshop participants will learn about how African Shea Butter is made, how essential oils can be used to naturally improve or reduce skin conditions like dryness and sensitivity, and how to prepare their own 100% natural plant based body butter.  

Liha Beauty will be on hand to answer any questions, and to provide an introduction and education to making your own botanical beauty creations at home.

Photography Workshop Level 1 with Carolyn Carter

Learn how to get the most out of your digital camera and take better pictures with photographer Carolyn Carter.

The workshop will include:
- The basics of photography.
- Understanding your camera better; Apertures, Shutter Speed, ISO and other camera modes.
- How to use natural light for better pictures
- Composition and how to best frame your subject
- How to take better portraits
- A chance to practice your new found skills.

Happy Houseplants

The Happy Houseplants workshop aims to give an education in common houseplants.

We'll cover the history of houseplants, what will thrive best in which situations and why some houseplants you are trying to get your hands on are just not that easy to find. Learn about different light and water requirements, how and when to pot on and finally we will then guide you through how to propagate different sorts of plants. This is the perfect opportunity to gain a bit of confidence and knowledge with your indoor plants.
